Dr. Jose Liens

Dr. Jose M. Liens is a bilingual dentist, community advocate, and the Owner Doctor at Dentists of West Columbia with PDS Health, where he has provided leadership and high-quality care since 2019. Fluent in both Spanish and English, he is dedicated to serving diverse patient populations while extending his skills to underserved communities through nonprofit and global mission work.

Dr. Liens earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in 2017, followed by a two-year General Practice Residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. There, he gained advanced training in dental implantology, complex dentoalveolar surgery, and operating room care for special needs patients.

His clinical expertise spans a wide range of advanced procedures, including dental implant placement and restoration, wisdom teeth extractions, apicoectomies, cyst removal, nitrous oxide sedation, and same-day digital dentistry with CEREC crowns, onlays, inlays, and bridges. He is also recognized for his ability to manage dental emergencies and provide compassionate care to patients with unique needs.

Dr. Liens’s dedication extends beyond the clinic through service with Give Kids A Smile, Somos Amigos Medical Missions, Mission of Mercy, Smile Generation Serve Day, and the Special Olympics. These experiences embody the mission of Hear to Heal—transforming lives by improving access to oral health and restoring dignity through compassionate care.

A recipient of the ICOI Award and the American Student Dental Association Award, Dr. Liens is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the National Dental Association, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He remains committed to advancing dentistry through continuing education and mentorship.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Liens enjoys traveling, discovering new cultures, reading Paulo Coelho’s works, and exploring his passion for aviation. Whether in his practice, abroad on mission trips, or working with Hear to Heal, his vision is clear: to use dentistry as a bridge to healing, hope, and a brighter future for all.
